Which utility are you actually in?
• SMUD — most of Sacramento County: Sacramento, Elk Grove, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Galt, Natomas, North Highlands, Orangevale, Rancho Cordova, Rio Linda, Antelope. SMUD has run consistently strong electrification programs favoring heat pump conversions.
• Roseville Electric — Roseville only: the city's own municipal utility with its own programs. SMUD advice does not apply in Roseville.
• PG&E — Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento, Lincoln, Rocklin, Yuba City: gas-and-electric territory with its own rebate structure.
What kinds of upgrades typically qualify?
The recurring winners across programs: heat pump HVAC installations (the centerpiece of every electrification program), heat pump water heaters (frequently the richest per-dollar incentives going), and high-efficiency equipment meeting federal tax-credit thresholds. Ductless mini-splits are heat pumps too and often qualify.
Why aren't the dollar amounts printed here?
